Each year, the AFRC supports 10-15 visiting scholars from its partner universities. Since 2007, over 170 young scholars from more than 35 Chinese universities and institutions came to the UBC Faculty of Forestry for research and academic exchange, sabbatical leave, and professional training.
The AFRC-VSH will act as a platform to:
- recognize visiting scholars’ work and contribution in the AP region;
- feature publications and achievements in forest education and research;
- provide a contact board to encourage communication and academic exchange;
- offer opportunities for members to participate in regional/international workshops, seminars, and networking events;
- provide training and opportunities in mentorship and educational leadership based on individuals’ expertise and time commitment.
